Fireworks Cookies for Father's Day

At church, we make cookies and goodies for the men at church to celebrate Father's Day. So I saw these fun cookies on the cover of the last Martha Stewart Living magazine. I thought it would be really hard, but they were actually quite easy. And aren't they fun looking? I am going to have to do them again!

Wow, they're beautiful!

I saw a recipe that made me think of you. It was actually a decorating tip and it was this: for "sprinkles" on fourth of July cookies, cupcakes, etc. use pop rocks! The recipe called it "Firecracker Frosting." It was a regular buttercream with pop rock sprinkles. :)

Those are really cute. I've seen something like that on Halloween like a spider web with a plastic spider placed on top. Yours are great - very festive for the summer. Love it.

Dana- there is a gal at work who loves Pop Rocks! I'll have to tell her about that. I wonder if the icing is most enough to make them "explode" before they go in your mouth? A fun idea.
