 A year ago, I got a special little cookbook on doughnuts. I had thought I might do them for Christmas at work. A friend gave me her fryer. I got doughnut cutters and that is as far as it went. Now that it's a year later, I finally thought I would give it a try. These were cake doughnuts. The dough is really soft. It's a little tricky cutting them out and getting them in the fryer still nice and round.
 And it takes a fair amount os space and mess.
 They tasted pretty good though. I was going to make pink feather boa doughnuts. I didn't have red food coloring handy, so they ended up white. Topped with coconut. I'm not sure I'm going to do this too much again though. I do want to try some raised doughnuts and maybe some baked ones.
